Law School Confidential Review

The Law School Confidential: A Complete Guide to the Law School Experience, By Students, For Students has been called "a must for anyone attending or thinking about law school" by The Houston Lawyer, and is one book that can be found in the bookshelf of every law student.

Law School Confidential is considered the "little black book" of law schools around the United States. Rather than being a simple guide book with study and exam prep tips, this book aims to be a complete guide to the entire law school experience. It walks the reader through what it feels like to be inside a law school - surviving the first year and the 1L exams, the summer law internship, the screening interviews come graduation. The author frequently uses the experiences of former law students to make its points clear, and at that it is quite effective.

The book begins with a string of lengthy chapters on orienting the reader with the process of getting inside a law school. This "beginner's guide" is exhaustive and well written, and does a good job of introducing law school and its lifestyle to the reader. However, one feels that more could be devoted to how to actually pick which school to apply for.

Some very useful information comes in the form of the grading curves in each individual school, and which school has pass fail grading available as an option. For most first year students, this information can be vital; the first year is easily the toughest.

The book stresses the fact that the best, and the most useful tips and advice often come from fellow students and not professors. In most schools, the 2L and the 3L students are the go to guys - the professors are often either too busy to entertain individual students, or are not open enough in sharing information.

The strongest point of the book, and one that has made it so popular among most law students is its no nonsense, conversational tone. Most law books tend to throw legal mumbo jumbo at their readers - a tradition among lawyers themselves - but this book keeps the verbose to a minimum, and focuses on delivering frank information that can be actually useful to those thinking of, or attending legal school.

Where this book fails is that it can be too basic sometimes, coming across as preachy. Some of the study tips are downright basic - things which most people have picked up in their undergrad years itself. Moreover, the book tries to push certain tactics which may not be applicable to everyone.

Nonetheless, as the Houston Lawyer says, this book is definitely a must for anyone either thinking of becoming a lawyer. As the New York Law Journal put it, this is quite a "useful, worthwhile book".

What Is Guaranteed Health Insurance?

There are many different types of health insurance. Some have regulations by the state that have to be followed. There are some other types of insurance that do not have any factors that have to be met before getting coverage. Guaranteed health insurance is a type of coverage that everyone will be able to obtain even if they have pre-existing health conditions. This is because the coverage is regulated by state and federal government.  This is great because there is no company that offers this type insurance that can deny anyone with health conditions that may be denied by the general insurance companies.

This means that no matter if you are sick or have pre-existing conditions; you can still be accepted for this type of insurance coverage. There are some types of insurance coverage that have many factors such as age, race, and health conditions as well as many others that can affect you getting qualified for their health coverage.

You do not have to worry about any of this with guaranteed health insurance because you are always accepted under this insurance plan and is great because there are many people that cannot get coverage through other plans because of many different reasons.

In many cases this type of insurance coverage is used by individuals as well as small businesses. Many small businesses have to have this insurance for their employees by law. This is good but can also be negative since it is regulated by legislation however, this does not bother the general population.

Many people love the option of insurance coverage that guaranteed health insurance gives them. In many cases people that get denied by other insurance companies do not even know that this type of insurance is even available for them. The people that do know about the coverage do not know that it is regulated by the state and federal government. Well whoever you are, you can get valuable information on the internet and other resources.

Why Do Duct Cleaning Prices Differ So Much?

Many customers wonder why Duct cleaning company A charges $150.00 for their service, while Duct cleaning company B is charging $500.00 for the same service.

From my many years of experience I have found that most companies such as company A, that charge a very low price, will typically try to up sell extra services once they are in your home or they will simply do a very poor job in a short period of time, these extra services may include things like

-Creating extra access holes

-Cleaning the A/C coils

-Cleaning the furnace conveyance compartment

-inspecting the humidifier

-Applying a system sanitizer

-cleaning the air cleaner

-doing a carbon monoxide test

and the list goes on....

Companies such as Company B that charge a hefty price, are often companies that are subcontracting their services out, in other words you may think that you are hiring that "Big Department Store Chain" when in actual fact they are subcontracting their work out to other duct cleaning companies.

Companies that operate in this fashion are typically more expensive because there are several people sharing a piece of the same pie.

Other reasons may simply be that the company has a large overhead with several employees, therefore they must inflate their prices to cover their expenses.

The fact that we are an independently owned and operated company means that we have a low overhead and can in turn pass that savings along to our customers.

We believe that offering a full comprehensive service combined with quality workmanship at a fair price, will continue to keep us at the forefront of this industry.

A Day for Nike With Eve

"Another nice day it is!" Nike stretched himself with a yawn. Then he sprang up from the ground as if struck by a sudden idea.

"Well, it's time to find Mr. Tiger for helping me improve the speed." Nike patted his body, straightened his laces and strode ahead. This was his decision made last night and the decision also included learning jumping, leaping and swimming. Till now it was the three skills. Nike was walking and thinking. Without any warning, a hand of Eve appeared in the air overhead. In another second, Nike found he was in Eve's hand. Although he knew she would not change her mind easily, he would like to take his chance. So he tried to flee off her hand, but failed with any doubt.

"Oh, it's you. I am looking for you. Today I would like to show you around our garden. It's beautiful and I believe you will like it as much as we do. Look, it's a fine day. Let me think where we should start." Eve kept talking as usual and gave a serious thinking about the jumping off point.

"Ha, you know, really, really, thank you for your invitation to visit the garden, but I'm afraid I can't go." Nike said to Eve. Eve stopped and looked at Nike confusedly.

"I would like to ask Mr. Tiger for help to improve my speed." Nike explained more.

"Look, I' m... I' m happy hearing that, but I really don't think it is a proper time to find Mr. Tiger for help because he hurt his leg on his way home yesterday. But don't worry. It's not a big deal. Just stay home several months and during this period I will take care for him. Anyway, I have been used to such kind of thing. And I think I can bring you to visit him when I send him dinner this evening. " Eve stopped for a deep breath and opened her mouth again earnestly, "And now, would you like to go with me"

"Well, maybe you're right. OK, let's go. "

Eve told Nike they were heading for the pond. After a few walk, a pond was shown up behind the wild reeds. Nike recognized this peaceful place at the first sight. They looked at each other with a understanding smile. "Yes, it is the place that I found you for the first rime. That time I was telling the little fish Adam's gift. Well, I like to share my happiness and sorrow with them. Maybe, this is why I always give the pond preference. So, what about you, Nike? Why did you turn up here that day? "

"Well, it was a long story. In a word, I was endowed with life by a witch and then something was wrong resulted in my coming here."

"Ha, miracles! You are really a great stranger!" Eve turned to Nike and screaming. Instinctively, Nike moved little to left. However, he found it was by no means a good response because he fell into the pond as a result. Firstly, he was totally caught by panic. Later, he realized there seemed something under his body to support him and carry him towards the land slowly. "Oh, my little fish, how lovely you are! " Eve smiled, walking into the water. Instead of picking Nike up to keep away from the water, Eve got some water into Nike's stomach as well as some little fish. Nike was almost mad until the fish in his stomach kissed him gently. "Look, they like you. They are kissing you."Eve said happily with eyes opened widely.

"Atishoo! Atishoo! Atishoo! Anyway, remember I am Nike."

Finding It Hard to Secure a Teaching Job? Why Not Search the World!

For young, adventuresome teaching graduates, the prospects have never looked better-that is, in the international education markets. The competition for new teaching jobs at home is intense. In many international markets, however, teachers have a lot of choice. Before settling down with a family, why not see the world? If you have a family, take the opportunity to immerse them in new cultures. English teaching opportunities exist in almost all developing markets. Here is a quick world view of interesting teaching markets.

Asia

Asia continues to be the number one market for teachers and tutors. In China, 400 million people, or one third of the population, are studying English.* The demand for native English teachers is so high that many schools ask Europeans to feign an American or British identity. Just a few years ago, until recently being eclipsed by China, South Korea spent the most amount of money on English education in the world.

Creative distance learning solutions are being developed to compensate for the teacher shortage but, without a doubt, a live in-person English teacher is preferable. South Korean schools have introduced robots that teach English to the classroom. EngKey, for example, is a robot whose face is a monitor from which a live teacher provides English lessons, and singing and dancing.** Through online learning, some schools have hundreds of students linked into one English tutoring session. This is more common in China where schools are scrambling to meet the demand.

Africa

Humanitarian teaching opportunities provide an opportunity to gain multicultural teaching experience. Zimbabwe has 15,000 vacant teaching positions. It is not currently churning enough teachers out of its teaching schools and, therefore, suffers from a brain drain to other parts of Africa, where inflation does not take such a big chunk out of salaries. With a high level of poverty, AIDs and corruption, this former British colony has had a harder time attracting foreign teachers. It is an opportunity for those who truly want to make a difference in the lives of Zimbabwean children. Some teachers choose to take these more challenging humanitarian assignments on a short-term basis, such as for a summer or a semester.

Middle East

Toronto-based TeachAway says it will place 10,000 teachers in the Middle East this year. There are plenty of attractive and high paying teaching opportunities in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait. These are conservative Islamic countries that, for some, can be a very uncomfortable living situation. For the conservative teacher, however, you will enjoy a high standard of living and warm climate in these oil rich countries which, despite their strict moral codes, have large English-speaking expat communities. Salaries are high and the cost of living low. Wealthy cosmopolitan cities such as Dubai have traditionally attracted families. The high quality of life is attracting American teachers with 10 or 15 years of experience and families in tow who have been struggling to find work in Western countries due to budget cuts.

Go ahead! Throw a dart at a map of the world. The opportunities are so numerous that you are likely to hit an attractive teaching job opportunity.
